Information On The Registration Of A Trust on the Trust Registration Service (TRS)
The Trust Registration Service (TRS) is operated by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). If someone has passed away and you are acting as a trustee, executor, or administrator, the legal responsibility to register the trust may fall on to you.
There are two types of trust you can register:
- Taxable Trusts
- Non-Taxable Trusts
Who Registers A Trust On The TRS?
- You, the Trustee
- Us, as an agent
- Third Party (Accountant etc.)
Typically, in the Wills and Probate department, trusts need to be registered if someone has died and a trust is created through their Will.
