National Minimum Wages to Rise Again!

The last rise in the National Minimum Wage took effect in October 2016. However the rates are set to rise again and from 1 April 2017, the National Minimum Wage will be:-

  • £7.50 per hour – 25 years old and over
  • £7.05 per hour – 21 – 24 years old
  • £5.60 per hour – 18 – 20 years old
  • £4.05 per hour – 16 & 17 years old
  • £3.50 per hour – for apprentices in the first year of apprenticeship or under 19 years old

Previously rates were reviewed every October but in future the rates will change every April.  Current forecasts predict that the over 25 rate will increase to £9.00 per hour by 2020.
