Alzheimers - Dementia Friends
What's a Dementia Friend?
Some of our staff members have recently undergone training to become “Dementia Friends”; this is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative to try and promote a better understanding of what it’s like to live with dementia and how, by the smallest of things, we can make a difference.
Anyone can become a Dementia Friend (www.dementiafriends.org.uk) and by turning understanding into action Dementia Friends are helping to make life better for those people affected by dementia.
Lisa Nurse, Head of Private Client at Graham & Rosen, took part in the training. Lisa said “With more people living longer, dementia is becoming more of an issue for older people and their families. The Dementia Friend training will help us to relate to clients who may have dementia and to understand the problems they are having.”
Recently our Probate & Wills team held a Bake Sale in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society and expanded our waistlines as well as the Society’s coffers by raising almost £100.
